Hesam's research interests are optimization, data assimilation, geostatistics, and uncertainty quantification all in close association with computer simulations and novel computational methods in the context of heterogeneous geo(thermal)systems. His current focus is on developing a comprehensive and robust combined simulation-optimization framework for the design and optimal control of geothermal systems under uncertainty during long-term operation.
