High-efficient Uranium-Ion Adsorption on Manganate Nanoribbons

Manganate Na0.44MnO2 nanoribbons were synthesized by molten-salt method and the adsorption properties the sample for radionuclide uranium were investigated. The adsorption experiment result shows that the removal rate of 0.10 g Na0.44MnO2 nanoribbons to 36 mg/L uranyl solution reaches 97 %, and the adsorption process reaches equilibrium in about 5 h. The adsorption isotherms of uranium ions on Na0.44MnO2 fitted well to the Langmuir model, corresponding to the maximum adsorption capacity of 203.27 mg/g. This work provides good candidates for the radionuclide-uranium adsorption.
