On-Chip Backward Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Lithium Niobate Waveguides

We present the first experimental demonstration of backward stimulated Brillouin scattering in lithium niobate on insulator waveguides. We observed both intra- and intermodal scattering, showcasing gains up to G B = 10 m–1W–1.
