Corrosion of Irradiated NbMoVCr Coatings in Lead-Bismuth Eutectic
Corrosion Science(2024)
摘要
NbMoVCr multi-principal element alloy (MPEA) coatings were irradiated by 6 MeV Au-ions at room-temperature and 550 degrees C to the peak irradiation doses of 20 dpa and 80 dpa. Then the effect of irradiation on corrosion of coatings in liquid lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) was investigated. By comparing the microstructure of the surface oxide film and grain boundary corrosion region in the irradiated and unirradiated coatings, it is revealed that Auions irradiation promotes both the overall corrosion and intergranular corrosion of NbMoVCr coatings, which is attributed to the irradiation-induced defects as well as the desegregation of V elements at grain boundaries.
