摘要
Incorporation of MAX phase to fabricate low-carbon refractories has been recently proposed. Among them, Cr2AlC was the undoubtedly one which was regarded as the most potential candidates for applications, due to the excellent chemical stability of chromium oxide. In this work, the influence of Cr2AlC on the thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance of Al2O3-Cr2AlC-C refractories were investigated. The results indicated that the residual strength ratio still maintained stability when flake graphite content reduced from 9wt.% to 4wt.%. While the corrosion resistance of the sample with 4wt.% graphite and 5wt.% Cr2AlC increased approximately 40% compared with regular Al2O3-C refractories with 9wt.% graphite. The degradation mechanisms and interactions of Al2O3-Cr2AlC-C refractories in contact with MnO-rich slag were studied, and the role of Cr2AlC was elucidated.
