Lars Vereecke

My research lab is focusing on host-microbiota interactions in health and disease, using unique transgenic mouse models of human pathologies (IBD, arthritis, colorectal cancer) and germ-free mouse technology. My research lab (host-microbiota interaction lab - HMI) is coördinating the germ-free and gnotobiotic mouse facility at Ghent University, the only such facility in Belgium. I am associate professor at Ghent University and teamleader at the VIB Center for Inflammation Research (IRC). I am coordinator of the 'Ghent Gut Inflammation Group (GGIG), a research consortium at Ghent University around intestinal biology. I am teaching Molecular Cell Biology and Biomedical Physiology at Ghent University.
