William Weintraub, M.D., MACC, FAHA, FESC, is the John H. Ammon Chair of Cardiology and founding director of the Center for Outcomes Research, one of four research centers comprising the Value Institute at Christiana Care Health System. Dr. Weintraub is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist with extensive leadership in multi-center clinical trials, health status assessment, health care economics, informatics and advanced analytic methods. He was one of the first in cardiovascular medicine to develop an economic analysis alongside clinical trials. In 2005, Dr. Weintraub was recruited to Christiana Care and appointed as the John H. Ammon Chair and Cardiology Section Chief. In this capacity, he supervises the clinical, educational, research and administrative activities of Christiana Care’s full-time and private-practice cardiologists. He also holds appointments as professor of medicine at Jefferson Medical College and adjunct professor of health sciences at the University of Delaware. He is on the research committee and coordinating council of the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance. He founded the Christiana Care cardiovascular fellowship program.
